What are my
kids doing in science?

- Discovering our world through our
senses
- Using our eyes to observe, touching, hearing, smelling,
tasting. Look for "smelly papers" coming home this week!

- Exploring
Animal Homes
- What does an
animal home need to have or do for an animal? Students will make
their
own
animal nests that meet the qualifications of an animal home.

What's the
Matter?
Students are
investigating matter - Is it a solid, liquid or gas? What are
it's properties? Students will make a mystery matter and will
bring home the recipe!

- Exploring body systems -
Circulatory System
- let's start with the
heart
- What does it look like? What does it do? How does it work with
the lungs and the blood? Students observe real animal hearts!

Investigating living things -
Plants-
What is the
job of each part of the plant? Students will eat a root, look
inside a flower, examine the structure of a leaf, observe a blue
celery stalk, and more!

PARENTS
- Did
you or your child find an interesting science picture in a
newspaper or magazine? Please encourage your child to bring it
in to science and share it with the class!
