FFHS names four top scholars

High School Principal David P. Halloran
announced the top four students of the Fonda-Fultonville Central
School, Class of 2008. These four students will be the honor
speakers at the graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
Kevin
Michael Lewis is ranked first in the class of 2008. Kevin is the
son of Thomas and Liane Lewis of Amsterdam. Kevin is the
president of the national honor society and has received many
academic awards throughout his high school career, but one of
the most notable awards that was presented to him is for being
the most courteous student in the high school. Kevin is a member
of the soccer team and is active in church activities. He has
spent many hours volunteering for various causes and
organizations including area hospitals. Kevin will enter Albany
College of Pharmacy in the fall to study in the field of
pre-medicine.
Christopher
L. Kline is ranked second in his class. Christopher is the son
of Greg and Sharon Kline of Fonda. Christopher is the
vice-president of the national honor society and captain of the
varsity soccer team. He has been the recipient of various
academic awards throughout his high school career. Christopher
has served as a volunteer for several area organizations
including area hospitals. Christopher will be attending Hamilton
College in the fall.
Seth
A. Mitchell is ranked third in the class of 2008. Seth is the
son of Cynthia and Stanley Mitchell of Fonda. Seth is a member
of the national honor society and the student advisory program
for student mentoring. One of Seth’s greatest accomplishments is
earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. In
addition, he is on the soccer and swimming teams and holds three
school records in swimming. Seth has received many academic
awards in his high school career and he is active in church and
community activities, serving as a volunteer fireman in the Town
of Mohawk. Seth will attend Utica College in the fall.
Bridget
Rose DeCarlo is ranked fourth in her class. She is the daughter
of Bonnie DeCarlo of Fonda and Patrick DeCarlo of Fort Johnson.
Bridget is a member of the national honor society and the
student advisory program for student mentoring. She is treasurer
of the student government and general manager of the ViE Bakery.
Bridget has received several awards including the YMCA
Outstanding Student Award, the FFCS Academic Achievement Award,
and the ViE Bakery Employee of the Month Award. Bridget will
attend SUNY Fredonia in the fall.
