Name:
Algebra
This is the
first year for the new algebra course. Students in Algebra
will take the new Integrated Algebra Regents Exam for the first
time this June. Students will also be using a new textbook
to help prepare them for the new regents. Graphing
calculators will be used.
Course Name:
Pre-Geometry
Students taking
Pre-Geometry are in their 2nd or 3rd year of math.
This is a new course this year, since NY State has changed the
math curriculum guidelines and standards. There is no
Regents Exam this year. Students wishing to continue may
take Geometry next year.
Course Name:
Practical Math
Practical
Math is a new course that was developed for students who need a
3rd year of math. This course focuses on math that is used
in the real world.
There will be projects and activities designed to help
students see how math really is useful in everyday life. There is
no regents exam. Students that complete this course
successfully will still be eligible for a Regents Diploma.
