spacer graphic 4Middle School Art Philosophy:

"Art" has been in existence since the beginning of time.  Man's  first record was a visual one based on the symbols and pictures left on the walls of cave men  better known as "cave paintings".   photo of student art"Art" is what defines the differences between people and cultures, is what makes the world beautiful, and is what stimulates, fascinates, and entertains us on a regular and daily basis.  A world without "art" would mean a dull and boring existence for everyone because  everything we have, hold, use, and see has been designed by some sort of creative minded individual called an "artist".   Art Education is the spring board which exposes students to unlimited opportunities.  It is the creative process which teaches students how to make decisions, revisions, meet deadlines, and work with new and exciting materials, all of which are skills required of today's work force.  "Art" is a necessity as well as a pleasure  we all need to learn and appreciate.
