Football Listed Among the Best

Next fall the
Fonda-Fultonville football program will enter into its 40th season
of football. Recently, an entry in the High School Football Forum
section of the Web site
www.syracuse.com released some very interesting information
regarding the long-term success of "Braves" football, showing
not only that F-F has been able to compete with the best of the
best in Section 2 over the years, but that the whole state is
watching.
FFCS has had
one of the most successful programs in Section 2 (Albany area)
over the last 25 seasons, with win percentages of .767 (last 5
years), .801 (last 10 years) and .761 (last 25 years).

Since the
start of the program in 1966, FFCS has won 19 conference and 5
sectional titles. Head Coach and Athletic Coordinator Alex Mancini
attributes this success to several things.
"We have had
talented players, but everyone has had talent. What has separated
our players from other programs is their work ethic and tremendous
pride in being part of FFCS football," Mancini said.
"In
addition, we have had great community support over the years.
First of all, a few years ago we did a field renovation project
which involved a great deal of fund-raising. The generosity or our
former players, along with local businesses allowed us to upgrade
our facility at no expense to taxpayers," he said. "Also, the
local Kiwanis Club annually sponsors a summer football clinic. It
was held recently, with over 60 players participating. We also
have a family atmosphere in our program, with great dedication on
the part of our coaches, players and fans alike. It is truly an
honor to be able to be part of this."
