"Round up" your family and lots of
good books. Make reading a nightly family
activity. Encourage your "little
cowpoke" to read each night. Students may
read on their own or be read to. They may
"Partner Read" with mom, dad,
grandma, grandpa, or even a brother or sister.
Reading 5 - 7 nights / week will make such a
difference in your child's reading.

First Graders are asked to
read at least 15 minutes per night/ 360 per
month. Each month, the top reader in
our homeroom will have their picture placed in a
"Wanted Reader" poster that will hang on our
door.
**
Remember to be a trustworthy reader when it
comes to recording your reading minutes.
** Mrs. Henry will have a special treat for the
class with the most reading minutes each month.
I hope we will get a treat!
